Michelin-Star chef Boris Rommel

Boris Rommel was born in 1984 in Karlsruhe und started his career as training as a chef in the restaurant “Erbprinz” of the 5-Star Superior hotel “Erbprinz” in Ettlingen. This was followed by many years training under the wings of great chefs in many famous hotels, such as Claus-Peter Lumpp in the restaurant “Bareiss” in Baiersbronn,  the hotel “Colombi” in Freiburg, in the “Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe” and in the “Villa Hammerschmiede” in Pfinztal-Söllingen. His dedication and hard work led to Friedrichsruhe in 2011 until 2012 when he was working as a Sous-Chef.

Since February 2016 he has been creating exquisite Gourmet-Menus with finesse and preciseness. His innovative menus are a skilled fusion of classical French cuisine and regional influences. Boris Rommel always places great value on premium products with good quality that are coming from the region of Hohenlohe. He also likes to use wild herbs from the hotel’s own cottage garden. In November 2017, Boris Rommel received his second Michelin star and 17 points in the Gault & Millau 2018. In April 2018, he was named "Rising Star of the Year" by the renowned gastronomy-journal "Rolling Pin".
