Once a romantic hunting lodge – today a place of wonderful cuisine and one of the best German wellness resorts and beautiful hideaways. The luxurious property, which is idyllically located in “Hohenlohe” in the South of Germany, is surrounded by a beautiful 44.000m² park scenery. According to your wishes you can choose from our 61 classically furnished rooms and suites in the historical Hunting Lodge, the Main Building, the Spa Building, the Gatehouse or the Garden House.
We are especially proud to announce that our Gourmet Restaurant “Le Cerf” has been awarded 2 stars in the Michelin Guide for the 7th time in a row, and that our hotel has been awarded the highest score of 4 lilies / 20 points in the prestigious Relax Guide 2022 for the 14th time in a row. In June 2017, we were also awarded the coveted European Health & Spa Award as “Best Destination Spa in Germany”, as well as 2nd place in Europe. At the “World Luxury Spa Awards 2023” our resort received awards in two categories: “European Best Spa Manager” for our Spa strategy gremium, as well as “Luxury Golf Resort Spa”.

from rustic to star cuisine
Culinary we spoil you in our gourmet hotel in five different restaurants – all under the direction of star chef Boris Rommel, who is awarded with two stars in the Guide Michelin and 3 toques in Gault&Millau. In April 2018, the talented top chef was privileged to receive the coveted ROLLING PIN Award as “Rising Star of the Year 2018” and was awarded the title of “Chef of the Year 2022” by the Great Restaurant & Hotel Guide in 2022. Gastronomic director Sören Weiland and his service brigade ensure charming service in perfection.

The spa and wellness world, newly opened in 2008 and winner of several awards, is available to the hotel’s guests free of charge. On 4,400 m², everything is offered that is good for body and soul: 13 treatment rooms, private spa suites, indoor and outdoor pool, the diverse 400 m² sauna landscape from KLAFS, the fully equipped high-tech fitness center and much more. The 61 guest rooms and suites of the Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe are spread over five individual buildings with very different styles and their own charm.
In the historic hunting lodge you reside stately – all rooms are furnished with antiques. Our garden house is cozily nestled in the beautiful park. Our rooms in the main house and gate house present themselves in an elegant English country house style, and the spa house, on the other hand, delights with its minimalist and modern world of color and form. The two presidential suites are also convincing in terms of modernity.
