Golf Course

Golf-Club Heilbronn-Hohenlohe e.V.

The Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe is a paradise for all lovers of golf. Just 100 meters from the hotel, you will find the 27-hole course of the Golf Club Heilbronn-Hohenlohe e.V. Guests of the hotel receive a reduced green fee.

The well-kept, park-like course, which belongs to the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany, blends harmoniously into the Hohenlohe countryside – an elegant combination of sport and nature. Fast, well-defended greens, water hazards of all sizes, varied fairways and well-placed tees provide the sporting challenge.

With 27 fairways, the championship course offers three varied course combinations. The “Schlosspark” course (Par 35) is characterized by its old tree stock, “Limes” (Par 36) impresses with short walking routes and “Friedrichsruhe” (Par 37) is certainly the most demanding part of the course. Each combination has its own charm. The offer is complemented by a generous driving range, a putting green and a pitching green. With the opening of the Golf Academy in June 2010, eight covered tee courts were created on the driving range. These offer protection against rain and snow, and in cool or icy temperatures, the switchable radiant heaters provide a pleasant training atmosphere.

“Golf in Balance”

In summer 2010, the Golf Academy “Golf in Balance” was opened at the Heilbronn-Hohenlohe Golf Club. Under the direction of Mark Mattheis, one of Germany’s most renowned coaches, the Akademiehaus offers golf training with state-of-the-art equipment.

Together with the holistic training concept developed by Mark Mattheis, even beginners can develop into good golfers in a short time. Three pros are available for training sessions and courses. Using an ultrasonic and radar system as well as high-speed cameras, the impact technique and the exact speed can be measured and then analyzed together with a trainer. Two covered tee-off pitches make this possible in any weather.

The use of the Akademiehaus is exclusively through a booked trainer.

Leisure, Culture & Surroundings

The gently rolling hills, green avenues, wildly romantic river valleys, blossoming rapeseed fields, vineyards and forests – the region around Friedrichsruhe is also known as “Swabian Tuscany”. In addition to the idyllic landscape, there are also a variety of attractive excursion destinations in the Hohenlohe region, such as Schöntal Abbey, the magnificent Renaissance Neuenstein Castle or Langenburg Castle with the “German Car Museum”, which is situated high above the Jagst. A tip for art and culture lovers is the small medieval town of Schwäbisch Hall with one of the most beautiful market squares in Germany, many cultural highlights such as the Kunsthalle Würth art gallery or the famous open-air plays on the steps of the town church of St. Michael.

The Hohenlohe region has also made a name for itself as a gourmet region, for example with Boeuf de Hohenlohe or Swabian-Hall ham. By the way: numerous organic and Demeter farms sell their delicious products in their farm stores.

Wine lovers can go on an enjoyable discovery tour in the Württemberg wine region. The wine regions between Taubertal, Hohenlohe, Heilbronn and Stuttgart are characterized by a centuries-old tradition of viticulture. Picture-book landscapes, a mild climate, idyllic wine villages, art treasures and excellent restaurants and wine taverns delight visitors from all over the world. In Württemberg, all roads lead to the wine: by car on the Württemberger Weinstraße, by bike on the Württemberger Weinradweg or on foot on the Württemberger Weinwanderweg.
On the website www.weinwege-wuerttemberg.de you will find all the regions, event dates and wine experience tours.
